We developed our Indian Chai Scone Mix with the help of a long-time friend and tea expert. It contains a ground blend of black tea as well as various aromatic chai spices, including cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg. The finished flavor of the scone is subtle and less ‘in your face’ than flavors such as Gingerbread and Pumpkin Spice.
You will add both butter and buttermilk to the Indian Chai Scone Mix to make the scones. They bake up with a crusty exterior and a light and tender interior. Strawberry preserves and peach preserves complement the flavors of the chai scone. The spices and fruits play off against one another causing each of the individual flavors to shine.
This is the same spice blend we use for our Vanilla Chai Shortbread Cookie Mix.
